MEDICAL INVESTIGATIONS

We utilise diagnostic imaging in conjunction with
clinical pathology testing to investigate and
diagnose medical problems.

A range of medical problems occurs in horses and may involve the cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, dermatological and gastrointestinal systems.

Internal medicine involves investigation and treatment of any of these organ systems. Some medical problems that may require investigation include:

  • Loss of performance
  • Neurological conditions (eg. Wobbler’s disease)
  • Gastric ulcer disease
  • Weight loss
  • Acute and chronic diarrhoea
  • Respiratory disease
  • Chronic colic
  • Heart disease
  • Muscular disorders
  • Skin cancer

Our spectrum of equine patients ranges from the newborn foal to adults. At the clinic we utilise diagnostic imaging in conjunction with clinical pathology testing to investigate and diagnose medical problems. We are able to provide and intensively care for severely ill patients (foals and adults) with the use of our intensive care facilities. This means that your animal is appropriately cared for according to its clinical condition.
